Programs Offered
CCP – The Texas Health Steps Comprehensive Care Program within Texas Medicaid offers services to clients under the age of 21 who qualify for coverage by Medicaid.
Services offered through this program:
- Private duty nursing
- Attendant care**
- Physical therapy
- Speech therapy
- Occupational therapy
All services are available based upon the needs of the client. There is no waiting list for services through the CCP program.
**Attendant care must be authorized through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

MDCP – Medically Dependent Children’s Program provides services to support families caring for children and young adults who are medically dependent and to encourage de-institutionalization of children in nursing facilities. Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services’ (DADS) employees provide case management services.
Services may include:
- Respite care by a nurse or attendant
- Adjunct support by a nurse or attendant
- Home modifications and adaptive aids
In order to qualify you must:
- Currently receive Medicaid OR meet financial eligibility
as determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission - Meet the medical necessity criteria for nursing facility care
- Meet disability criteria for Social Security or Medicaid benefits
- Be under the age of 21
Note: There is a waiting list for services. Please call 1-877-438-5658 to have the child’s or young adult’s name placed on the MDCP interest list.

CSHCN - The Children with Special Health Care Needs Services Program provides services to children with extraordinary medical needs, disabilities, and chronic health conditions. The CSHCN Services Program’s health care benefits include payments for medical care, family support services, and related services not covered by Medicaid, CHIP, private insurance, or other “third party payors.” The CSHCN Services Program also assists children and their families by supporting case management at DSHS regional offices throughout Texas.

CHIP – Children’s Health Insurance Program helps Texas families with uninsured children who may not be eligible for Traditional Medicaid coverage. Benefits are similar to Medicaid covered services.

Superior Foster Care – A new health care program to improve services and better coordinate care for children in foster care.
Benefits include:
- STAR Health Benefits
- Mental health and Substance Abuse Service
- Physical and behavioral health
- Vision services
- Dental services
- Service coordination
- Clinical service management and disease management
- Hotlines for member and provider assistance
Eligibility is only for children under the managing conservatorship of the State of Texas. Eligibility begins as soon as conservatorship has been assumed by the state.
Private Insurance/Private Pay - Individual’s insurance companies and health plans cover home health services. Private pay categories include cash, checks, and major credit cards. Once verification of eligible services has been completed, At Home Healthcare can work to develop a treatment plan.
